CWS Construction Group Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, computer savvy Labor Compliance Officer to provide overall support to various publicly funded public works projects. Primary responsibilities include review of Certified Payroll Reports and related documents, identify issues of non-compliance and prepare comprehensive reports to communicate findings.
Job Responsibilities
- Collect and review Certified Payroll Reports (CPR) and supporting labor compliance forms submitted by subcontractors. Methods for collecting data will include both web-based applications and hard copy submissions.
- Work with appropriate agency staff on identifying applicability of state/federal prevailing wage requirements as well as providing state and federal prevailing wage rates for labor compliance support. Facilitate the proper reporting of prevailing wages, fringe benefits, apprentice utilization, and resolution of employee wage violations.
- Issues requests for missing and revised documentation and corresponds with the applicable contractor’s staff to ensure compliance.
- Communicate with contractors to resolve discrepancies/inadequacies relative to CPR submittals.
- Work with DIR, LCP Tracker, and Elations software to review and approve certified payroll and payroll documents.
- Evaluates contractor’s information on the CSLB website to ensure proper licensing and provision of worker’s compensation insurance coverage for employees in case of injury. Notifies appropriate contacts when subcontractors are not in compliance.
- Establishes files reflecting all appropriate documentation.
- Track changes and updates to state and federal labor compliance and prevailing wage regulations and standards; apply changes/updates to the agency/client labor compliance procedures and practices.
- Supports staff with client requirements, including preparing spreadsheets, documents, and emails.
- Prepare for and provide information to comply with requests from auditors and respond to requests for certified payroll/labor compliance related documents.
- Subcontract administration: Send out subcontracts for signature and log once executed. Send out fully executed contracts with all labor compliance requirements.
- Assist accounting department with various duties
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to use computers proficiently
- Must be able to commute to Novato office daily
- Must be able to organize large amounts of data, documents, and information on the computer and physical documents
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Public Works or Labor Compliance preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

CWS Construction Group Inc. is seeking a qualified and motivated Construction Project Superintendent to manage/coordinate public works projects throughout the Bay Area. In addition to representing the company on the job site, the superintendent is responsible for maintaining a positive and productive relationship with owners and their representatives, as well as with subcontractors and architects.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in Public works.
- Experience in supervising carpentry and laborer crews.
- Maintain detailed and accurate daily logs.
- Ability to supervise, schedule, and inspect all phases and trades to ensure contractual compliance with the plans and specifications.
- Emphasize and ensure jobsite safety, while identifying and resolving hazards promptly.
- Proven ability to meet scheduling and budgetary requirements.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks in the field
Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in school/seismic retrofit projects.
- Ability to supervise, schedule, and inspect all phases and trades to ensure contractual compliance.
- Proven ability to meet scheduling and budgetary requirements.

- Pass LiveScan requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in construction
- Estimating Experience.
- Ability to develop a CPM.
